Trusted Forensic Evaluations and Expert Testimony Across Legal Settings
Forensic Evaluation Services
I provide comprehensive forensic psychological evaluations and consultation services across criminal, civil, and immigration legal systems. My work is grounded in clinical depth, evidence-based methodology, and a strong understanding of how psychological evidence is applied in legal settings.
Criminal Court Evaluations
In the criminal court, I conduct evaluations related to:
- Competency to stand trial
- Mental health diversion
- Mitigation
- Psychosexual risk
- Other clinical questions relevant to criminal proceedings
My extensive experience with individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, informs the insight and rigor I bring to each evaluation.
Immigration Evaluations
In the immigration court, I offer psychological evaluations with focused expertise in:
- Franco class assessments
- PTSD and trauma-related claims for asylum, hardship waivers, or cancellation of removal
My doctoral research and clinical experience in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) provide a strong foundation for evaluating the psychological impact of trauma in these cases. As a native Spanish speaker, I conduct evaluations in both English and Spanish, ensuring linguistic accessibility and cultural sensitivity.
Civil & Employment-Related Evaluations
In civil litigation and employment contexts, I conduct:
- Independent Psychological Evaluations (e.g., emotional distress, disability, personal injury)
- Fitness for Duty Evaluations
- Consultation for attorneys regarding psychological evidence, expert collaboration, and strategy
Expert Testimony
I have authored over 300 forensic evaluations and have been qualified as an expert witness in state, federal, and immigration courts. I have testified in both deposition and trial settings. In all cases, I prioritize clear, objective communication and respect for the legal process.
